“Fundamental Technologies for melting glass have remained constant for many years.  Today, in the U.S. as in many other areas, a number of efforts are underway to develop new technologies for melting glass more efficiently, and for identifying other approaches to lower overall costs of producing glass in general.  In this paper is provided an update on developments in melting as well as in other related areas that are evolving in the United States.”
