Advanced query

The Easy Search Advanced Query interface allows more complex searches to be conducted.

It consists of two identical search boxes, each with a drop-down list of searchable fields available. Single or multiple search terms can be entered into each search box, (enclose phrases in quotes, " "). Within each box, the terms entered will be searched using OR.

eg If the terms glass container "heavy metals" were entered in a box, the search would retrieve items containing either the term ‘’glass’’ or the term ‘’container’’ or the term "heavy metals".

For more complicated searches both search boxes can be used. Use the drop-down menu between the two search boxes to specify how the two search boxes will be linked.

eg 1 : If you want to search for glass, container or heavy metals and environment protection or recycling, then:
- In the first search box enter for glass, container ''heavy metals''
- Set the drop-down box to AND
- In the second box enter ''environment protection'' ''recycling''

The search will retrieve items which contain EITHER of the terms glass, container or ''heavy metals'' AND ALSO either of the terms enter ''environment protection'' ''recycling''.

eg 2 : If you want to search for glass, container or heavy metals but exclude references to environment protection or recycling, then:

- In the first search box enter for glass, container ''heavy metals''
- Set the drop-down box to AND
- In the second box enter ''environment protection'' ''recycling''

The search will retrieve items which contain EITHER of the terms glass, container or ''heavy metals'', but WILL NOT CONTAIN either of the terms ''environment protection'' or ’’recycling’’.
